Can't type apostrophes, quotation marks, or inverted commas into DaDesktop
This irritating glitch crops up rarely, but it’s tied to your physical keyboard model, the language layout you’re using, and how internationalisation is configured.
This is a Windows only Issue
You can fix it by following these steps:
- Go to the Windows search bar and enter 'Settings'
- Click 'Time & Language'
- Choose the language option from the left-hand menu
- Next, under 'Preferred Languages', select your preferred language and then go to 'Options'.
- Then, hit 'Add a keyboard' and pick the layout that matches your physical keyboard (e.g., US keyboard layout)
- Remove the old keyboard layouts by clicking each one and selecting 'Remove'
- Test by typing single quotes, ' ' ', quotation marks, ' " ' and inverted quote marks `.
The fix is also demonstrated in this video.
