Create From OS Template
To set up a desktop using an OS template, follow these steps:
- Go to the course and open the Desktops menu
- Select "Create From OS Template"
This screen displays the various settings you'll encounter when creating from an OS Template
Below is a breakdown of what each field means:
-
GPU Model
Select the GPU model and type if needed. Check the 'Display GPU enabled servers' box to filter and see only servers that have GPUs. -
Datacentre / Server
Pick the datacentre region and server that's nearest to you in Greece -
OS to clone from
The available OS templates cover Windows and various Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Debian, and Almalinux, among others. -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
DaDesktop refreshes these templates frequently, but if you run into issues with the latest one, you can switch to an earlier version using this option. -
CPU
Set the number of CPU cores you need. The default of 8 cores is usually sufficient for typical Linux and Windows workloads. -
Memory
Specify the maximum memory (in GB) allocated to the desktop. Keep in mind that available server resources cap the limit, and different servers have different ceilings. If you require a higher allocation, reach out via Support Chat. -
Disk Space
Select the amount of disk space to allocate. The default is 50GB.
