SSH Access

SSH AccessIt's a frequent request: participants and trainers alike often ask for SSH access to DaDesktop machines so they can conveniently connect to their virtual Desktops straight from their personal laptops or desktops. We get it—working in a familiar local terminal feels more natural than typing commands inside a remote Desktop window.

While technically doable, we don't allow SSH access in this situation because it would unnecessarily expose the course machines to serious security risks.

We've introduced a handy drag and drop file transfer capability, so you can effortlessly move files from your own device right into the DaDesktop machine. Many earlier requests for full SSH access were driven by the lack of a simple file transfer option—now that it's here, using DaDesktop is smoother than ever.

On top of that, Windows and Linux OS templates now come with full QEMU Spice Desktop support, which dramatically simplifies copying and pasting commands from your local machine into the DaDesktop environment—yes, even on a Mac or with non-English character sets.

For DDOP – DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access can be enabled if needed.
